Sketch, The Lecture Room and Library
London, United Kingdom

The Experience
From Michelin Guide
There are few more joyously colourful and lavishly decorated restaurants than Mourad Mazouz and Pierre Gagnaire’s 18th-century house of fun. Everything comes with a sense of theatre, from the unfailingly attentive service to Gagnaire’s signature multi-dish cooking. Here, a skilfully roasted langoustine tail in liquorice beurre noisette is not enough, it must be contrasted by an array of complex accompanying dishes crafted with mind-blowing detail. Each element is always exceptionally cooked and the original combinations are brilliantly conceived.
Unique Things
From Visitor Experiences
- Multi-Dish Signature Cooking with Theatrical Service
The restaurant is known for Pierre Gagnaire’s signature multi-dish presentations, where each course is served with a sense of theatre and unfailingly attentive service, creating a unique dining experience. - LSD-Inspired, Garish Ballroom Decor
The Lecture Room & Library features a visually striking, almost hallucinogenic interior design—think jewel-colored armchairs, stucco ceilings, and a garish, ballroom-like setting that stands out even among London’s most avant-garde venues. - Exclusive, Private Upper Floor Access
Unlike Sketch’s more public spaces, The Lecture Room & Library is located on a private upper floor, accessible behind a rope barrier and large doors, and is often used for sole hire with restricted reservation timings, enhancing its exclusivity.
