The Experience
From Michelin Guide
A restaurant with all the attributes required for success, including a young, dynamic and relaxed team with a keen desire to continually surprise guests.Occupying a former mechanical workshop in the Jesús district of the city, it features a large skylight-style roof and several different ambiences: a sofa space for an aperitif; the Especioteca; and the main dining room with an open kitchen at its centre (with a dining counter) and a few tables from which to watch the frenetic activity here unfold. The experience at Gente Rara involves a journey through the different sections of the restaurant and can only be enjoyed via its tasting menus (Chalado and Lunático), all of which feature an array of mini dishes that are always consistent in quality, technique and flavour. Book well ahead to secure a table!
Unique Things
From Visitor Experiences
A former workshop-turned-dining-theatre in Zaragoza
- Housed in a former mechanical workshop in the Jesús district, the space features a skylight-style roof and multiple ambiences, including a sofa area for aperitifs, the Sala de la Luz, and an open kitchen at the centre where guests can watch the frenetic activity.
A menu-and-journey dining experience with no traditional menu choices
- The experience is structure-driven and tasting-menu only, with Chalado and Lunático options and an Armonía Líquida beverage pairing; guests traverse a guided journey through the restaurant's different sections, experiencing a sequence of mini dishes rather than à la carte selections.
A sustainability-forward, locally sourced philosophy with circular economy
- The kitchen emphasizes local seasonal products and sustainability, prioritizing the circular economy and environmental stewardship as foundational principles of its cuisine and sourcing.
